3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Discussion of your production company name and logo and the role of such companies
The reason why we named our production company as Eclipse Productions was it seemed like a catchy name and went well with our film genre, the reason for this is when their is an eclipse it gets dark and most horrors are filmed in the dark.
What does a production company do?
Production company is directly responsible because it handles basically everything to do with the film. Production companies are often either owned or under contract with a
media conglomeratefilm studio or entertainment company.

MGM is an American producer, these are one of the big media companies which has been distributing films since the 1920s. They have released many films but the James Bond saga is the biggest they have distributed.

The idea a distributor and who that might be and why?
film distributor is a company or individual responsible for the marketing of a film. The reason their is a film distributor is that because they announce when and what platforms the film will come out in, they decide where the film is suited for. The reason why they do this is because they would decide what time and date and platform they will release it to make sure they maximise the profit they make.

Where the money might have come from for a film such as yours? The money from a horror would almost always come from the producers of the film, an amateur film company may fund us if they think our ideas can maximise their profit.

Why the various people are named in the titles - which jobs appear in titles and in what order and how have you reflected this?
The people who are named in our film credits throughout are the people which have played a key role creating and starring in our film. The director comes last as this is a stereotype, our group put the job titles in order of what became the key roles in the making of this opening film. The editor's came first as without these people our film would have a lot of errors in it, every film needs editing in it to make it a successful film.
All the people which star and appear on the credits all play a key role because without these there would be no film.

What your film is similar to 'institutionally'?
Our film is based on a horror story, horror films tend to come out around October time near as Halloween is in October. Film producers do this because it tends to allow them to get profit and it suits that time. We produced our film at the end of September hoping that we would be able to get it produced ready in time for Halloween but because of the lack of money and team-members we couldn't maximise our chances of getting it released.

Our film is based around these saga of films, in the UK this film was released on October 9th 2009.
Dimension re-released Halloween II in North America on October 30 2009, this was done this so it coincides with the Halloween holiday.

A media institution in which might distribute our product would be a small company which is looking for small budget films to distribute, a local institution in our area looking for films with low budgets would suit us. A worldwide distributor like 20th Century Fox wouldn't advertise and budget our film as the products we have used and the time we put into our film is not enough and the equipment from the world wide distributors.
